These days though, there really is no ‘standard’ pub style kitchen table because of the wide selection of styles and colors available, and ‘pub style’ usually refers to a smaller, taller wooden table with matching stools.

A common use for pub tables is in breakfast nooks and other corners of the kitchen or home used for breakfast. The pub table is designed for quick informal dining so it is perfect for serving breakfast or lunch on.

Types of Kitchen Pub Tables

Pub style kitchen tables may be designated by other names. The term bistro table is sometimes used because these tables are a great deal like those used in French bistros or cafes. They are also very similar to the tables found in many American diners, coffee shops and restaurants.
Some four piece pub dining sets are available. These are usually very heavy and very functional dining sets. A pub dining set would be ideal for use in a smaller home or in a more informal place such as a vacation cabin.
A major selling point for pub tables is their relatively low prices. A pub style table and chairs can be purchased for under $500 and this makes them a perfect piece of kitchen furniture for those on a budget.
